Truth and Ethical Leadership
This week, I’ll take a look at the role truth plays in ethical leadership. At a time when “truth” itself is elusive, how does finding the truth come into play in ethical leadership?
Ethical Leaders Make a Point To:
- Approach issues with uncertainty and curiosity
- Seek truth and speak truth
- Stay media literate
- Seek out reputable objective sources, question motives, and dig into data
- Understand that truth, like ethics, is multidimensional
- Stay open minded and willing to change and grow
- Cut through “information pollution” to discern the most important variables
The quest for truth is one of the most important elements of leading responsibly in a global society. You can’t be an ethical leader without it.
